Answers to frequently asked questions (I hope :D). How to set slovak language in Notepad++, Skype and StrongDC++...
1. a) How to set slovak language in Notepad++ (up to version 5.4)?
- Download compressed slovak language file (.zip archive) here.
- Extract it and rename language file to "NativeLang" without quotes.
- Copy or move it to the Notepad++ installation folder (usually "C:\Program Files\Notepad++") and overwrite the old file that is there.
1. b) How to set slovak language in Notepad++ (since version 5.4)?
- Download compressed slovak language file (.zip archive) here.
- Extract it and rename language file to "slovak" without quotes.
- Copy or move it to the Notepad++ localizations folder (usually "C:\Program Files\Notepad++\localization") and overwrite the old file that is there.
- Start Notepad++, in the main menu click on "Settings", then on "Preference..." [picture]
- Click on the "Global" tab, there is a "Localization" section with drop-down menu, select "Slovenčina" from this menu [picture]
2. How to set slovak language in Skype for Linux?
- Download compressed slovak language file (.zip archive) here.
- Extract it to the folder "/usr/share/skype/lang/".
- Start Skype and in "Options" select slovak language.
3. How to set slovak language in Skype for Windows?
- Download compressed slovak language file (.zip archive) here.
- Extract it to the Skype installation folder (usually "C:\Program Files\Skype\Phone").
- Start Skype, click on Tools", then select "Change Language" and "Load Skype Language File". [picture - up to version 4.0; picture - since version 4.0]
- A dialog window opens up, where you need to find the slovak language file.

- Doubleclick on it or click once to select it and press "Open".
4. How to set slovak language in StrongDC++?
- Download compressed slovak language file (.zip archive) here.
- Extract it to the folder, where you have your extracted StrongDC++ (where StrongDC++ is located).
- Start StrongDC++, click on "File" and then on "Settings...".
- A settings window opens up. In it, on the left side, click on "Appearance".
- On the right side at the bottom notice "Language File" and button "Browse...". Click on this button.
- A dialog window opens up, where you need to find the slovak language file.
- Doubleclick on it or click once to select it and press "Open".
- Restart StrongDC++.
